Reasons for Site Inspection:
HWC Officials were notified by a member of the public of possible illegal works on 29 Mutley Road (a building older than 60 years). HWC Official decided to implement a site inspection whether this was true and issue a stopworks order if work was illegal.
Findings of Site Inspection:
HWC Officials noted that work was illegal as there was no permit issued for the work and work was carrying on. However, the owners noted that there was a submission on the 25 November 2015 for the proposed alterations and additions. HWC Officials also noted that previous work done prior to 2009 by neighbouring properties have damaged the context of the house and the streetscape and therefore the building is most likely to be graded IIIC. Therefore, further actions beyond a S51 Letter is not recommended.
Recommended Action:
HWC Officials to locate application and case officer to issue a S51 Letter stating that HWC does not condone illegal works.
